MY First Blog Post

 Hello and welcome to my EDT 619 blog. My name is Sara (she/her) and I am starting my first semester of my graduate level work at Grand Valley State University. I received my undergraduate degree from GVSU in History, and I have a Masters in Leadership for Higher Education from Siena Heights University. I have been working in higher education for over 15 years, working as a Career Navigator/Specialist, and teaching First Year Seminar at the local community college. I began working at Grand Valley in October of 2022 and work in the Battle Creek Regional Outreach Center.

I utilize technology in my every day interactions. My goal is to get a better understanding of the technology platforms out there, and how to improve my classroom presentations (both physical and the face to face environment) for my students, as well as enhancing my presentations on college and career readiness.

I have four wonderful and annoying kitties at home - I am a foster failure, but I love all four of them (most days). I also have a senior in high school who is exploring her college options. We have a few more college visits scheduled, but she's already made her choice. She's picked a college in Michigan, but it will feel like it's in a different state by the time I drive there.
